If you are new to the Council, or would just like to know more about us, read our Purpose + Objectives to gain valuable insight..

Everyone is Welcome

All parent/guardians of students who attend Glen Cedar Public School, all staff of Glen Cedar Public School and all public school ratepayers within the area serviced by the school boundaries have the right to be recognized as members of the Glen Cedar Public School Community and are welcome to attend Council meetings.

Council normally meets on the second Tuesday of each month during the school year from 7-9 pm. Agendas are posted on the Council portion of the bulletin board in the school lobby at least two days before each meeting.

Mission Statement

The School Council is committed to inspiring and preparing the students at Glen Cedar for life in our changing world community.

Working in partnership with the teachers, parents, students and the community, it is our goal to provide the tools and opportunities to ensure that our children’s learning experience is both rewarding and enjoyable.  We strive to support the school plan for continuous improvement, to improve student learning and encourage parental participation in these processes.

Purpose + Objectives

The purpose of the School Council is to:

1. Improve pupil achievement and to enhance the accountability of the education system through the active participation of parents.

2. Provide a means for regular communication and dialogue between all partners in education.

3. Participate annually in the school improvement planning process.

4. Make recommendations to the principal of the school or to the board that established the Council on any matter.
